The Walking Dead... Now For Scholars

New season begins October 13.
I know there are quite a few of you who are fans of the TV zombie series, and now you can get scholarly feed back and join others in interpreting the extremely successful show. Beginning October 14, the day after the first show of the new season, the University of California, Irvine, in conjunction with AMC, will be offering a massive, free online course entitled Science, Society, Survival: Lesson's From AMC's The Walking Dead. An interdisciplinary team of teachers will be teaching on various topics, including physics, mathematics, health services and social sciences for eight weeks (each Monday), ending December 2. Not for me, for you, regardless of what you think of the film, there are some great things going on intellectually and the film presents us with tools that you are going to be able to utilize in all films to engage with them on a deeper level, so even if you just skim over the upcoming post, at least read the first couple of paragraphs because you will be seeing those scenes used in other films (because they have all ready been used in so many films).
