Pacific Rim ROCKS!

If you love movies, you will thoroughly enjoy Pacific Rim which is loaded with subtle film and hisotry references. I am confident there are many references to Transformers throughout the film, however, I haven't seen them in awhile and probably missed them. I didn't catch the film in 3D because I needed to get into the earliest showing, but as I watched the film, I dreaded my decision: if you can watch it in 3D, DO IT, with the action sequences, the timed filming, the huge cinematic screen, it's worth the few extra dollars for the entertainment! As you can tell, I am still experiencing formatting problems with Blogger and I do apologize.
If you are a conservative, you will love this film. If you are a capitalist, you will love this film. If you are a fan of films, you will love this film. In other words, Pacific Rim is the exact opposite of World War Z, specifically in the character of Segen (the female Israeli soldier who helps Brad Pitt's character get to the WHO facility). Whereas Segen is the ideal for World War Z--no family, no real name, no class, no education, no religion, no personal history--Pacific Rim intenitonally flips that on its head and demonstrates why our identities, flawed as they are, with all the probelms and baggage psychology brings--makes us better people and better warriors than what socialists want us to become. If you go to see it, get your tickets in advance because I went to the 11:30 show, and beyond my belief, the stadium was 3/4 full that early in the day; so, if you are going to a popular show time, get those tickets early! AND, there is a post-credits scene after the first batch of credits that you will want to catch because we will be discussing it! Eat Your Art Out, The Fine Art Diner
